As Ed says, it was for space constraints. Outlet at the bottom, inlet at the top. For the car installation, I'm going to try cutting the ends off and getting two cores welded together to simplify the plumbing. On the plane, I used AN16 fittings and had to make the spacing between the cores equal to an AN16 "T" plus two AN16 couplers to make it work. Bob W.
