Steals crank case oil and meters tiny amounts into the carb float bowl on early models and directly into the rotor housings after that. The apex seals need to get a slight amount of lube to survive. Some choose to eliminate the pump in some way and just premix some amount of 2 cycle oil into the fuel. Or, premix the oil. You can also open the oil gallery that leads to the OMP and TIG weld a dash 3 or dash 4 AN fitting in the gallery. Plug the gallery at the front iron, and run a hose from the fitting to a bottle on the firewall to hold a 2 cycle oil supply. Richard Sohn used to make an adaptor that bolts on with the stock pump to do this operation, but I think he has stopped production for lack of time. It is customary in writing to show the body of an acronym after its first use in a paper, using capitals that align with the acronym. The OMP (Oil Metering Pump) is used for....etc. Lynn E.
