Without my wastegate flapper, I can't compensate with extra boost so my best chance to be competitive this year is to find a faster prop. My prop is a 3-blade 64x78. I would be better off with a slightly longer 2-blade 74-78" pitch with about 76" pitch being perfect. Does anyone in the southwest have such a left turning prop and spinner that he would be willing to lend out for the race? I may work on getting mine re-pitched.... its too late to re-install the flapper valve, that will have to wait until next year. :-) -- David Leonard Turbo Rotary RV-6 N4VY http://N4VY.RotaryRoster.net http://RotaryRoster.net --NextPart_Webmail_9m3u9jl4l_26365_1206378576_0 Content-Type: multipart/related; boundary="NextPart_Webmail_9m3u9jl4l_26365_1206378576_1" --NextPart_Webmail_9m3u9jl4l_26365_1206378576_1 Content-Type: text/html Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

So the local guys decided we are going to hold a race, and of course I plan on attending:

http://rvproject.com/race.html

The problem is that the course is highly taylored for c/s props and not f/p cruise props. (includes climbout and terrain to over 5k then descent with mandatory full fuel).

There are some FAST RV's in the line-up and I am the ONLY one with a f/p prop.  Without my wastegate flapper, I can't compensate with extra boost so my best chance to be competitive this year is to find a faster prop.

My prop is a 3-blade 64x78.  I would be better off with a slightly longer 2-blade 74-78" pitch with about 76" pitch being perfect.  Does anyone in the southwest have such a left turning prop and spinner t hat he would be willing to lend out for the race?

I may work on getting mine re-pitched....  its too late to re-install the flapper valve, that will have to wait until next year.  :-)
