I flew for couple of hours with short straight pipes pointed back (Cozy). When I did the first static run up, I asked one of the airport bums to watch for anything unusual. BTW he is hard of hearing. So, I brought it up to 52-52K RPM and looked at my observer, but he was not there? he was running around the corner of the hangar, holding his hands over his ears :). In flight the noise was activating the microphone on the headset too. Buly
