Ed,
Reflective cone theory is what Bill = Jepson and I=20 have designed into our joint venture exhaust design  - = although I=20 haven't finished it so I don't know how well it works.
The principle is to maintain a clear = passage for=20 the exhaust flow but redirect the sound waves (which are energy)=20 therefore turning the sound into heat. In our design the heat is = dissipated=20 with cool air flow through the exhaust and further cool air around the=20 exhaust.

However this is not a cheap exhaust to = make, as=20 mine is assembled out of a number of cones ( 1.6mm SS). I think the cost = of the=20 cones came to $200 and then there's the welding. There is also the fact = that it=20 is also not light because of the thickness of the material.

The bottom line is that cones by their = nature=20 redirect sound energy into heat. The idea is to not have a direct exit = for the=20 sound energy - this has been achieved in this design by having the sound = waves=20 inter the center of a cone which is blocked-off and is redirected = through the=20 holes and redirected out.

So the theory in this design ( = HushPower) is sound=20 - excuse the pun. The packing material merely protects the light outer = skin.=20 There will be a tremendous amount of heat in the inner chambers so I = don't know=20 how long they will last, maybe there thick enough to take it ? However = if their=20 cheap enough just replace them.
