Trust me, it's not the exhaust port type that's making the difference. Dennis' plane sounds more like a quiet turboprop than a Lyc or rotary. It might not be making quite as much power as Tracy's, but if it flies with Lyc 180's, that's not bad at all. Dennis, have you flown a mission with a Lyc yet where you both started with full tanks, flew the same profile (with 'normal' cruise speeds for the Lyc) with the Lyc & then both topped the tanks at the end of the flight?
