ken - I was one of those pilots that was on
disability. fortunately I don't live in northern CA and there
wasn't the budget to nail everyone else. anyway, I went through
Virtual Flight Surgeons following my second surgery (never declared my first)
and was able to wipe my slate clean with no future restrictions and no
repercussions. I realize that your case is different, but may be worth a
discussion with them. they are a group of retired flight surgeons that
have much FAA experiences. they submitted my records anonymously, got
approval, then resubmitted them with my name attached. the whole deal cost
less than a grand. kevin
