Looking at your pictures, I think your inlet is too close to the hub of the propeller. Canard guys have done some testing (maybe others too) and shown that the faster you go, the area around the center of the prop acts like a flat disk. If you look at the Lopresty speed cowlings, the inlets are at the maximum outward on the cowling.
On pusher aircraft tests have shown that the air is being pushed inside the cowling, instead being sucked out.
