It seems like you are referring to different diameters of the pin on the standard size 'D' connectors though. I don't recall hearing of that but it's always possible that someone was manufacturing their own thing that was almost but not quite compatible. AFAIK today, any finished connector of one sex will mate properly with any matching connector of the other sex. For the connectors that use crimp pins, I'm not as sure that all manufacturers pins fit properly in everyone else's connector body. They may, but my preference it to get pins and bodies from the same manufacturer. Bob W.
