Good job getting down safely Gaylen;
    I have 27 separate fuses for almost every item, with only a few non-critical items sharing fuse protection. I subscribed to Electric Bob's philosophy regarding circuit protection, however the topic of fuses vs. circuit breakers has been thoroughly hashed out on several lists that I've belonged to, with valid arguments for both. While I've never had a problem, I will confess that I purchased 10 circuit breakers for use on my critical buss after one of Ed's convincing arguments several years ago, but due to the difficulties in retrofitting my finely crafted (read; jammed, packed, tight) custom built fuse panel, I never did install them. However the plane is at home in my garage right now, so reading your story has reminded me to put that back on the list again as an item to reconsider.
