Hi all,
I wonder whether someone has experience/suggestions for the following:
I am in the process to upgrade my flight helmet with a headset inc. ANR-kit.
They work great in my regular headsets, but I would like to improve the power-supply connections.
As I am using the equipment about every day, the use/abuse starts to show - the power cable connection is a plug in with thread-safety.
However these seems to open by themselves (stainless or chromed) and the plastic covers on the plugs have long lost their threads too.
I would like to do away with these connectors for a simple plug-in plug without any thread-safety. Just like headphone or mike plug.
It has to be a rather tight fit, so a tug on the lead would not unplug easily. I thought of using a mike or headphone plug/socket, but they are rather pricey (Spruce) and some one could burn their headset if plugged in by mistake.
Does anyone a suggestion for online order - make/brand/system/source)? I need inline(power-supply) female connector and chassis-mounted female connectors in addition to the male plugs - as I am running the helmet and headsets and some times I have to adjust the length of the power supply according to the aircraft I fly, I will have to make an extension-cord...
The powerpack will be sitting on the floor, as I am changing the supplied pack (with 9V battery) for a Pelican-case based "power block"
BEFORE you order make sure you specify your requirements exactly - no extra charge....
Thanks for any reply,
Thomas
PS: NO economic or other involvement with headset inc., just a great company to deal with and great quality too for the price.
My work environment is just rough...
