I don't have a crystal ball, but here is my first thought when something was working and I did something and it no longer works - I may have done something (unknowingly of course) that caused it to stop working. You mentioned that you pulled all C/B before replacing the alternator. Is it possible that by doing so you may have 1). Found a faulty CB 2). Found a disconnected terminal to a CB. I know you checked voltages but just a thought. I would physically check (visually at least, tug gentle on wires going to/from CBs) all CB. Also, one thing that can cause the EC2 to act "funny" is if the battery voltage goes too low. I presume you checked the voltage to the EC2. Battery didn't get run down using a bad alternator did it? Its disturbing to hear about the mode 0/ mode 1 conflict. I know at one time, Tracy talked about changing the injector test mode from mode 1 to a different little used mode (such as mod 3) because some folks fly with mode 1 selected (inorder to play with the fuel map) and upon landing forget to reset it to mode 0. Next time they hop in the airplane (forgetting it is in mode 1) turned on the pumps and push the store button to get a prime shot and instead end up flooding the engine because they get injector test mode instead. Don't ask me how I know this {:>). But, to the best of my knowledge, he had not made any such changes. If the EC2/PM is indeed malfunctioning with mode confusion then its really hard to say what the problem might be. However, here is the only thing I can think of. Assuming the EC2 and PM are functional electrically - then there is the possibility (however remote) that the mode switch has jumped a cog. In other words, mode 0 is not mode 0 but actually Mode 1, Mode 1 setting is actually mode2, etc. So if that did happen then setting the EC2 to mode 7 vice Mode 8 should get the coils to fire. But, even if the mode selector switch had jumped a cog but the EC2 was working correctly, then you would think you would get it to run or at least generate a spark. So check battery voltage to EC2, check CB wiring physically, beat your head against wall - Oops you're already doing that {:>) Good luck, Chris. If I can think of anything else you might check I'll let you know.
