with C.O.P. why couldn't you fire both plugs at once by paralleling the two coils? They have a trigger circuit if I recall correctly. The draw on the trigger shouldn't be much. You could run 2 boxes if you want, but only 1 would be needed.

I believe what you're saying is to use the EDIS-4 coil pack. It drives two plugs per side, and I could just fire the leading and trailing at the same time.
It's workable...and simple. But I loose the redundancy and the split timing. While the benefits of the latter are questionable, the former is not, especially since I'll be using used components.
In the event of a power outage, or computer failure, the sparks will run independantly. I'm going to run an extra, manual-valve controlled, gravity fed fuel line to the intake that will let me "pour' fuel into the intake. That's my backup to the injectors. My previous calculations for endurance bus alternator out event was 20Amps. These modifications will help me push it down closer to the <10 that I want it to be.
