For the chap considering cutting 3mm apex seal slots in an Rx8 rotor.
I measured the internals of the RX8 and Rx7 rotors and although there are differences, not so much to worry in this area.

In the RX7 rotor the depth of material in 1.5mm below the corner seal area.
For the Rx8 it is about at the bottom of the corner seal area or about 1.5mm shallower - still plenty of room for a deeper and wider cut to 3mm.
The width is only .5mm extra each side, and the RX8 appears to be of the same width of material as the RX7.

What initially concerned me was the corner seal area, however the metal is quite thick in that area and is probably why they remove material in that area, when balancing the rotor.

Hope that helps - I will get my 3mm in Rx8 rotor cut next week with luck. I will also have the rotor balanced to check if the weight is symmetrical.
