I had the 'double tach reading' with the primary injectors off also. I talked to Tracy about this, and he said that the tach should go to zero on secondaries only, and that it is probably picking up noise from the other injectors to make it read double.

I have sent my EC-2 and EM-2 back for the upgrades in snubber circuit and latest compatiblity. One thing I did find in the testing is that the Blue Mountain tach signal, which comes off the Rotor-2 primary injector signal, will hold open the primary injector if the blue mountain is NOT powered up. Tracy suggested a 2K resistor on the line to limit current and prevent this.

Hi John,

No, and if there is it will be way off.  When I disable the primary
injectors, my tach reading doubles on the EM2.  I suspect there is a
spike at the leading and trailing edge of the signal when it's disabled
but I haven't put a scope on it to see.  If there are spikes, your tach
might or might not respond to them.  That probably leaves the ignition
as a source for a tach signal.  I'll check with Tracy to see if he has
any thoughts about it.  I don't want to connect anything to the coil
signals without his approval.

Bob, while sitting on the back porch watching the grass grow and running the plans of the carb heat through my mind, I got to thinking about a post of a couple weeks back about tach signals.  Does the box you sent me to try, pick up the signal for the tach from the injectors?  If it does, while using the carb (Weber 48) will there be any signal for the tach with the injectors disabled.  JohnD
