John, I use the tach output of the Mazda Trailing coil ignition module to drive my tachometer - which is in no way connected to the EC2.  Can't recall your ignition set up - but, if not using the stock Mazda coils then of course you couldn't use that tach output.  However, when you test the leading coil (by disabling the trailing coil) my  tachometer does go to zero for as long as you hold the disable switch engaged.

Bob, while sitting on the back porch watching the grass grow and running the plans of the carb heat through my mind, I got to thinking about a post of a couple weeks back about tach signals.  Does the box you sent me to try, pick up the signal for the tach from the injectors?  If it does, while using the carb (Weber 48) will there be any signal for the tach with the injectors disabled.  JohnD
