John, I use the tach output of the Mazda Trailing coil
ignition module to drive my tachometer - which is in no way connected to the
EC2. Can't recall your ignition set up - but, if not using the stock Mazda
coils then of course you couldn't use that tach output. However, when you
test the leading coil (by disabling the trailing coil) my tachometer
does go to zero for as long as you hold the disable switch engaged.
Not certain this helps you any.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Tach signals
Bob, while sitting on the back porch watching the
grass grow and running the plans of the carb heat through my mind, I got to
thinking about a post of a couple weeks back about tach signals. Does
the box you sent me to try, pick up the signal for the tach from the
injectors? If it does, while using the carb (Weber 48) will there be any
signal for the tach with the injectors disabled.
