Ok, Bob, I thought perhaps different MSD systems for different automobiles, seems I used to recall they had a series for regular automobiles that didn't use Capacitor Discharge, but my memory being what it isn't.
Thanks
Ed

Hi Ed,
All of the regular MSD systems are CD's. I sort of wonder if the
Blaster coils are or not, and if they are do they have the same energy
levels of the other MSD systems. I think I've seen that the multiple
spark feature goes away at higher RPM's because of time constraints.

Given the interest in getting rid of SAG - its important that we are all on the same wavelength when discussing components. For example, there are a whole bunch of different MSD ignition systems out there - I'm not certain that they are all Capacitive Discharge types. It may made a difference regarding their ability to avoid/delay on set of SAG.
At least Lynn's assessment about the rise time of the CD type driven coils being so fast as not to permit much voltage leakage via the lead deposits and thereby avoiding SAG seemed to make sense to me.
So the question to Bob Mears is do you recall whether the MSD system being used was a Capacitive Discharge type? Thanks!

SAG can appear any where apparently. We ran a MSD system on our race care and still ran into the problem. The problem ended when we switched to alcohol, but thats not a fix for airplanes!
