You'd think it would help, but I had this engine mounted on a Kolb airframe about a year ago, with one of Tracy's redrives. At the time, I tried adding weight to the flex plate, and it didn't make any noticeable difference. It should help, but I'm afraid it will have to be more than a few lbs.

Sorry, I recall some of your Kolb testing. How much weight did you finally test with?
I would have thought a few pounds would noticeably drop the reversal rpm. I was always curious how much of a flywheel moment of inertia it is going to take to get it smooth at 1000rpm.
Has Richard posted his flywheel moment of Inertia?
