People in moon suits show up to mop up a 1/2 gallon of diesel fuel after a crash.

 

Cost, including paperwork, reporting, disposal of contaminated moon suits, fuel expended from 34,000 cars and trucks sitting on the closed freeway for 2 hours, consuming 37,000 gallons of fuel of various kinds, payroll for 11 cops and cars, moon suited personnel, Disposal of cotton batting containing about 1/2 of the offending diesel fuel,

Total cost is $121,450.67. Carbon footprint and contamination load. 61 tons outright additional 24 tons to replace supplies and fuel.

 

Cost of not reporting 1 gallon of diesel spilled on busy freeway with 15 MPH wind on 87 degree day after one hour. None. Site not detectable with current equipment after one hour.
