I just joined recently. I am considering rotary power for my RANS S-16 (www.shekari.org). I'm looking for a powerplant in the 130-140 hp range. Most of the rotary conversions I've read about are higher power than that. The S-16, for those not familiar, is a little smaller than an RV-6, about 930 lb empty weight. Factory recommended engine is the IO-240 Continental at 125 hp, although several examples have O-320s in them. I talked to Bruce Turrentine, and he seemed more interested in the Renesis and sort of discouraged me on the 13B citing parts availability. I guess my question for the list is, is there a good configuration for that horsepower level, maybe the 12B or something else? I would plan on using Tracy's reduction drive and engine controller. The bare engine weight of the IO-240 is 240 pounds by the way. Thanks, -George Harris
