Oops; rear seal in a pusher is the one nearest the prop hub.  Yes, on the
other end is a stiff elastomer seal pressed into a recess in the mounting
plate.  I don't think that one is going anywhere.

OK, that explains a lot!  The only advantage I see to you guys with the
engine on the wrong end is at least the engine is pointing the right
way. :)
