O.k.
Tell me what you guys think. I found a company here in the U.S. that can extrude custom shapes, I sent them the profile for the oval intake ports. The minimum order is very reasonable1 the cost to have the profile tool made is very reasonable1. I asked them about a company that could mandrel bend this oval tubing and they turned me to a company they deal with that is very close by. I'm waiting to here back from them with a quote. I want to have the extrusion bent from an oval into a round, also I think the bend should look more like what mistral has done with there manifold allowing the intake tubes to have a lower profile. The idea is to have a very lite manifold, so
the tubing will have a .065 wall, material is 6061. I could sell this oval tubing to anyone wishing to make there own lite weight manifold. Does anyone see a problem with this before I lay down my money. here is a link of the kind of bend I'm referring to. Dr. Gas makes these for NASCAR out of steel, but just to give an idea of what is possible. www.drgas.com
click on the oval tubing catalog.
