Sounds like you have clearly shown connectivity between the EC2 and 
injectors, Buly.  Before, Tracy put in the injector (mode 1) and ignition 
(Mode 8) simulation circuits, I would have said look to make certain your 
crank angle sensor is still properly connected.  But, my understanding is 
that the simulation circuits do not require the CAS to function properly. 
In other words they "act" is if they are being trigger by a CAS but actually 
are being trigger by an internal circuit simulating the out put of the CAS.

Since you indicate you do get spark when using the mode 8 ignition 
simulation circuits - it sounds like the problem is isolated to the circuits 
which trigger the darlington transistors which ground the injectors.

Just because, I can't think of anything else - have you tried it with the 
EM2 unplugged from its EC2 connection?  You indicate you are getting a NOP 
which as pointed out by several could mean no power from the EC2 to the EM2 
OR simply no communication along the serial data circuit between the two. I 
don't have an EM2 so not familiar with how it is powered,   IF indeed the 
EM2 has the NOP because it is not getting power from the EC2 how could you 
tell independent of the NOP blinking and does it mean anything relative to 
your problem?  Could it mean some part of the EC2 is not getting power and 
therefore the EM2 is not getting power from it as well?

Had a root canal done on a tooth today, so not certain I am going to be up 
to laying around under the aircraft tomorrow - to see why my engine won't 
start.  I do know that my injector simulation circuit is working because in 
mode 1 they click like mad.  I suspect my problem is ignition.

So sort of in the same pickle - can't run the engine, planning on going to 
Mid-Atlantic flyin this Friday - provided of course, I can fix the problem 
and get the engine running.

I just can't think of anything else to suggest, Buly.  If I come up with a 
brain storm, I'll let you know.
