If the plastic gets soft, the mating connector holds the pin in alignment until it cools off again. Bob W. This is a great tip, but everyone should note that he said "a mating connector", not "the mating connector". In other words, don't plug it into your EC-2 or EM-2 while your soldering. A tip for soldering 'D' connectors:  I always = plug the=20 connector into a mating connector before soldering.  If the plastic = gets=20 soft, the mating connector holds the pin in alignment until it cools off = again.
