So if by chance your main power switch for the EC2 was not connected properly (or failed) then the EC2 (before the snubber modification) could still get power through the injectors - but not any more. So add check power to EC2. However, you indicated that the EC2 did cause your spark plugs to fire, so would appear it is getting power at least intermittently from somewhere.
