Rusty,

That's very strange, look what they say about their AR682R engine.

"The AR682R aero-engine has been developed to power UAVs which require up to 120 bhp. It is based on the proven AR642 core engine which was designed to meet UK CAA / European JAR-E and US FAA FAR-33 certifications for manned flight."

Too bad someone here doesn't have connections with their sales department.  Their engines appear to be ready to bolt on and go fly.  They even have dynafocal mounts.

Too bad these aren't available.  Seems like a perfect gyro engine.
(No, I'm not suggesting you pose as a target drone.)   ;-)

Hi Mark,

Thanks for rubbing my nose in that bit of nostalgia :-)  And yes, between Eglin and Tyndall, you do have to be careful about becoming a target drone around here :-)

There's a company in the UK that makes UAV rotary engines, and now that I look again, it would seem that they just took over development of the engines you mentioned.  They seem quite adamant about NOT selling to manned aircraft, or for any other application.  Basically, they want the government contracts I guess.  Pity.

Cheers,
Rusty
