Charlie;  In more than 50 years of = welding I=20 have never seen it recommended that 2024 aluminum be welded, except with = specialized equipment.  It is prone to cracking.  If 5052 is = not=20 available, I believe 3003 would be a better choice.  = JohnD  =20 IMHO
