Ernest,
    I am not am engineer but in my mind lowering the vertical CG would
improve lateral / roll stability.........Plus my saddle tanks get wider as they
go to the rear from the main spar effectively moving fuel weight slightly
more aft and helping the Delta problem of being more nose heavy as fuel
is burned off........IMHO
