John, as best I recall the diffusers configuration varied from year to year.  However, all the diffusers I have seen  had at least one "O" ring and in some cases two "O" rings.  From memory (not the best), I believe the primaries always? had two and the secondaries sometimes varied between one and two "O" rings.

Go to his page at Mazdatrix, it has the best (only?) layout with photos that may help.

I believe the diffusers do more than just give you a better spray pattern/more atomization.  I think they help (at least to a small degree) insulate the fuel injectors from the heat of the block. With the diffusers there is no metal-metal contact between injectors and block.  just another small thing that may help "diffuse" a potential vapor lock condition.  My personal opinion.

Subject: [FlyRotary] fuel injection

Does anyone have a diagram of the fuel injectors.  The Haynes Manual doesn't have a sequence of the fuel injector and the various o-rings and the diffusers.  Does the diffusers have o-rings on them, there appears to be two o-ring groves on the diffusers.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thankyou in advance.  JohnD
