A half inch V belt will NOT transmit 13-16 HP for very long!  I do not
think that is a realistic value.

That would be my thinking. I have a Bando 9.5CM wide belt that has been on the car five seasons. I am looking to replace it because the edges are getting fuzzy. Maybe one or one and a half HP tops. And I have a 5/8" restrictor in the outlet, so there is a measurable amount of drag involved. I would be shocked if an electric pump didn't work. Not at all if it did. Lynn E. Hanover
