IVO was good enough to send me a new brush assembly which cured the problem. The prop has been on the airplane for about 6 years so this is a maintenance issue that must be addressed at each annual inspection. Glad it wasn't the internal brushes in the adjustment motor. That would have been a much more difficult problem to repair. It works fine now, although adjusting the pitch any finer than about 80 inches results in higher RPM but the engine/prop seems to be generating less overall thrust, so I have been just leaving it at one setting for now. As I expand the envelope changing the prop setting for better performance will be one of the tests. More later. Ernest,
The prop adjustment problem turned out to be rusty springs in the brush assembly causing the brushes to hang up and not slide easily within the holder.

More later.
Jim

Jim, did you fix the problem you were having with the prop adjustments,
or are you just setting it statically?
