Thanks Joe,
I'm hoping to get the taildragger endorsement this month so with my
usual estimate to reality factor (3X+), I should be ready to fly in
January.

I did the same thing - got my DAR sign-off on January 10th (or there abouts)
and then did make my first flight until April 17th while I got "upgraded".
Take your time - it will still be an exciting first flight!
