I think that it weighs about 30 lbs, as I recall. The way you are doing it though, is faster, because you don't have to modify your exhaust. There are some SS T04 manifolds available that could just be used to replace the stock manifold, and bolt a muffler to it. I have one for my T04 conversion, if I end up going to it. I may just do away with the turbo, depending on how your tests go. It would be nice to shed 30 lbs or so back there, and not have to worry about the turbo failing, or getting rid of the extra heat. Mounted an electric leaf blower in front of my P-51 style scoop to force air in the radiator and oil cooler. Warmed up the engine to 125F and did the "auto tune magic". I'm not quite sure if i was doing it right, But the high- power test later gave me 5750 rpm static (2650 prop) That's 250 rpm more than last night before the tuning. During the test I had a visitor. The guy that rebuilt my engine came buy and said that my turbo-exhaust is very restrictive and I should go in to 2 in one pipes and get rid of the heavy turbo castings. Took me to his race 12-B that's set up for 9-10,000 rpm. It is across the street in a aircraft muffler shop and showed me his race manifold. Looks like there are couple of hundred rpm to be gained from the exhaust change? I remembered George Graham uses straight out flexible SS tubes without a muffler and his engine does not sound bad. Also it is 8 feet behind me and points away from the cabin. this weekend may try to get it airborne again?
