   I'm not the moderator, but I'll sort of borrow his hat for a moment.
Long sig-lines add to the storage requirements; probably not much,
compared to the average lengths of our messages - certainly nowhere
near as much as that added by quoting the entire text (and photos) from
previous entries in a string, which happens here far too often. 

   That said, most folks haven't thought to itemize their systems because,
after a while, we all ~know~ what each other has.  If you skimmed
through the archives of the past couple of years, and visited the web
sites of builders who have them - such as John Slade (Ed Anderson
had a web presence, but it takes a little searching to find it:
http://www.dmack.net/mazda/index.html  ) you'd quickly become
acquainted with who has what. 

   I'm only making a SWAG, but _most_ of the time, all that extra info
in the sig-line wouldn't actually add value to the discussion.

   *That* said, it certainly wouldn't hurt for someone to occasionally add
a short description - similar to your sig-line proposal - to clarify the
context of their counsel or question.  It would spare our newest members
*some* of the need to peruse the archives.

It would be great if at the end of the post, possibly with the signature, a  
description of the unit to which the post refers.
 
This will not only help those searching for the "perfect combination" but  
may possibly help illuminate specific problems that particular components or  
combination of components have.
 
Just something to consider.
