As in.. pusher.. tractor.. fast mover.. slow mover.. John Slade seems to have good experience with his, on a turbo rotary cozy. His is in-flight adjustable, without the constant speed option. However, Tracy himself used an Ivo on his rotary RV4 and he feels that it wasn't up to the task, and caused a performance penalty over over 10 knots on the high end cruise. Theories abound about the conflicting results.. Some have speculated that the canard fuselage blankets/blanks the inner portion of the prop disc, which doesnt change pitch when the IVO is adjusted. This may be a source of flat plate drag area on tractor's where this area is exposed to the oncoming slipstream.. I've got an Ivo Magnum sitting on the back of our Velocity, but its just for show for the moment.. havent fired the engine up yet.
