Congrats Dennis.  It sure is exciting getting that first engine run.  I
am surprised you can't get over 2000 RPM though.  The stock programming
in the EC2 got me over 6000 rpm, but I'm still running a little rough
below 2000.  I mess with the programming on A but have left B alone so
I can always get back to something that works.  You may also want to
double check your initial timing.

Wednesday I started my RX-8 Renesis engine for the first time!!!  The engine is mounted on my almost complete RV-7A using one of Fred's motor mounts.  I still need to mount the cowl to the aircraft and duct the inlet to the radiator.  I'm using a 13 X 19 X 2.5" thick aluminum  radiator from Griffin, the stock of cooler from an 89 RX-7, James cowl for rotaries with the "shark" inlet below the spinner and my coolers are mounted below the engine with the forward end high and the aft end low.

The engine ran fine at low rpm but would not run above 2000 rpm.  I believe the mixture was too lean but I've not been able to improve the situation with the mixture know.  I guess it's time to learn to program the EC-2. - and also get the auto programming going.

Bobby Hughes was here today and may post a picture of my engine and me with my big grin.
