Got the oil leaks fixed and baffeling done.  Took off
max performance climb at full throttle 80mph to
2500feet(field elevation 860ft). OAT 81.  Leveled off
at 2500feet and pulled back to 6300 rpm and 20inches.
Oil temp stabilized at 180 water at 160. Indicating
170 mph.  Vibration greatly reduced.  Now will get
prop balanced on the airplane. Tomorrow am going to
make a check list and get some more accurate data.

Anyway it is good to be back in the air.  BTW the RV3
CD does not read on my computer or the one at office.
"install a cd" error.

Rich

How I miss those days of cowling mods... (NOT)

Maybe
you can remember some similer ground runs, Rusty. All the data I recorded is in the flight log
document on the CD I gave you.
Unfortunately, it's going to be virtually impossible
to make any comparisons
on a test like this.  I was never able to run full
throttle without
overheating pretty quickly, but I wouldn't expect to
be able to either.   The setup that you have for cooling has a lot of
extra safety margin built
in, so you should certainly be good for a flight
around the pattern.  Evan's
ain't gonna boil, and oil temps can go to 240 F or
so temporarily without
harm.   I hope you realize this voids your warranty :-)

Rusty (as if you had one <g>)
