It seems that the PTT and the mic share a common ground pin. I had used sheilded wire for the microphone, but not the ptt. I rewired the ptt using a sheilded cable and that solved the problem. I had the exact same problem on my EZ, after installing that radio.
It seems that the PTT and the mic share a common ground pin.
I had used sheilded wire for the microphone, but not the ptt.

I rewired the ptt using a sheilded cable and that solved the = problem.
