Dennis,

This looks WOW to me.  What airplane is this going in?  Can I presume that a RX-7A project is really an RV-7A?  I am installing a turbocharged RX8 in a Long-Eze.  This looks like it uses up a lot less space and could be quite efficient.

(I've been a lurker on this list for over a year and this is my first post).

This is my first intake. It uses a 4 port RX-8 manifold cut off just below the first rotary valve in the intake. A 1/4 in. thick aluminum plate was brazed to the cast manifold to form the bottom of the plenum. The 4 intake holes were located in the 1/4 plate and a router used for working wood was used to cut bell mouths in each of the runner openings. The bell mouths are flush with the top of the 1/4 in. plate. The sides and top of the plenum are made form .080 Al. brazed together. Thank you Ed Anderson for recommending the brazing rod!!! I am using the stock RX-8 fuel injectors and fuel rails. The fuel rails have AN -6 steel fittings brazed on the ends and are painted yellow. I am planning on either using the stock throttle with Tracy's fly-by-wire controller or a 65 mm Mustang throttle body I also have on hand. The throttle bolts onto the intake - see the first picture lower right side.

My project is an RX-7A, James rotary cowl, radiator and RX-7 oil cooler under the motor mount, RX-8 engine and the Catto prop same pitch and diameter as Tracy's.
