An overhauled engine that has reconditioned cylinders is not necessarily a candidate for a top overhaul, but it is very likely that it will require cylinder replacement before the recommended TBO is reached." Proper operation includes avoiding shock cooling which is an easy error to commit. As for frequent flights, I see a strong parallel between airports and marinas. Most airplanes and most sailboats spend a lot more time unused than used. So, I sort of agree with you. If the engine is broken in properly, not abused, and flow at least once a week, it will go a lot farther. I'm not sure what to think about their last line. If you start with reconditioned cylinders, it won't need a top, you will just have to replace the cylinders??? Bob W.
