Tracy;  I don't know the date on these.  It is my understanding that he installed them last winter along with the plenum that Sam sells and they do have the aluminum inserts from Sam and Roy said they were cut on a CNC machine.  These particular ones do not have a taper that was visible when I looked at them last fall.  These may not be the latest and greatest.  Roy is in Florida until spring, so I won't see him until then, he attends our EAA Chapter in Cadillac, MI.  JohnD

Can't tell from the picture, but does this installation have the aluminum duct inserts that Sam James sells?  They have a bell mouth that matches the cowl hole but neck down to a smaller size duct.  He has made them in a number of sizes and the figures I mentioned are what he told me are the latest & greatest that he has tried.  As always, YMMV.

Tracy;  The enclosed picture of the Sam James cowl is where I got the idea of the five inch cowl openings.  Sorry It appears that it goes straight into the plenum and the ruler says 4 1/2"s.   I took this picture in October, of Roy Pinners RV-6.  JohnD
