That's how I
got half travel on the lever :-)
What would enlarging the wastegate
involve? Probably a MAJOR mod for little benefit.
Each turbo
version is a little different. If you're going to use a stock
Mazda turbo, go with the Series V- 89-91, since it has a much larger
wastegate to start with. Even this can be ported, though I haven't looked
to see how much room there is to grow.
Also, keep in
mind that you have to use a correction factor when reading Todd's posts about
time and ease to fabricate things. He seems to be uncommonly good at
that sort of thing, so multiply the time by 10 :-)

too. The Setrab oil cooler installed real nice today, and it's
all buttoned up ready to fly. The POS Earls fittings didn't even leak
(yet). I'm going to leave
the prop pitch where it was on the last flight, which gave me 6300 rpm at 3 psi
of boost. I'll try to run 30 inches on climb, and see what the rpm
is.
