Does anyone know more detail about why Greg decided to pull the rotary?

I've read some veiled comments about issues with it, but nothing clear.

Hmmmnn....
        I'm purely speculating here, however it may have something to do with his success in the avionics field allowing him to afford the more prestigious turbine power ???
