Below are the notes from today's adventure.    As you'll read, there are certainly some vibration issues. 

 

A question for Richard- Have you run your single rotor with a realistic sized prop, or just with the drive itself?  Have you added any flywheel weight?

No, Rusty, I have not. However, I agree with Lynn on the fly wheel being the issue with the torque pulses. My load on the test stand is direct coupled, via a donut dampener to the load prop. I have the space in the fly wheel housing to add weight if necessary.

For the full size prop with redrive, I have to modify the test stand. This will happen as soon as I get some relieve from the house building.

At the RPM you are talking about, I do not think there is an engine balance problem. Even with a badly balanced engine, related vibrations did not show up below 4000RPM on my engine.
