Let me throw this out there again.  I have the = opportunity=20 to purchase a Renesis that came out of a 2005 RX8 that was totaled with = 1000=20 mile on it.

Hi=20 Bob,

I think = common sense=20 will rule on the damage issue.  There's a lot of ways to total a = car, that=20 won't put a scratch on the engine or transmission.  Was it hit = in the=20 rear, side, or did it hit a wall at 100 mph?  I'd say if there's no = visible=20 sign of damage to the block itself, then it's probably just=20 fine.

If it = turns smoothly,=20 has good even compression, and doesn't appear damaged, I wouldn't even = think=20 about taking it apart.   Once you get it in the plane and running, = you'll=20 have plenty of opportunity to find out if it seems to have problems = before you=20 have to fly it.

As for = the tension=20 bolts, has anyone looked at the Renesis bolts to see if they've improved = them?  In later years of the 13B, I think they tried to make them = better,=20 and since the Renesis turns high rpms routinely, they might have fixed = this=20 problem.  I can't believe it would be a problem if you wanted to = remove one=20 at a time to coat them, just make sure you order some new tension bolt = seals=20 before you do it :-)

Cheers,
Rusty = (friends don't let=20 friend fly turbos)
