Very interesting on the
temps. Now if we can get some of the other turbo guys to give some
readings, we might be able to confirm this, though as an instrument
technician, I trust your readings more than
most.
You'd think so wouldn't you, but as exhibited by a few
other questionable choices, my data should still be subject to peer review.
BTW, I'm actually an Instrument Mechanic (5th year
apprentice). Instrument Tech is just a 2 year course with no practical
experience.
Sorry to hear about the
ribs. The little girls you play against are growing up I guess
:-)
Fortunately the broken ribs came from a crushing body check
from a monster of a man, so I will get an opportunity for retribution,
with little consequence from the refs. Trouble with playing against girls is
that they can get away with blatant hooking & slashing, but you can't
retaliate at all or the the refs call everything.
Sigh... why can't they stay in the
kitchen ;-)
Kidding of course.... but don't let your wives read that.

However I can confirm that there
was a very large delta T across the turbo, and that the temp drop before the
turbo is approx. 50F/inch. I have thermocouples installed at each exhaust
port, then another a few inches further down right at the turbo inlet, then
another ~10" after the turbo outlet (pics are in the archives if interested).
I was very surprised at this temp drop myself so swapped around positions
of the T/C's to confirm the temps.
Strange but true.
Hi
Todd,
Good to have
you back.
