Hi
Steve;
I also have Van's cap. probes and I find that the
calibration does fluctuate from different batches of autofuel, but empty always
seems accurate. I've bought large quantities of fuel when doing my initial
testing and found that when calibrated they would remain accurate as long as I
used that batch of fuel, but as soon as a new batch was used, they would
suddenly be out of calibration. However as the tank neared to empty accuracy
would improve and when the gauge read zero I would have ~1litre remaining ( I
have multiple tanks so I can run tanks dry)
I've always assumed that Avgas, being held to a higher
standard, would produce more repeatable results, but I just can't justify the
cost, so I've never used it.
