It may be that Racing
Beat has had their production schedule held up by the laws of physics.

Hi Ernest,

My understanding is that RB has been making the rear, and intermediate aluminum housing for years, but they never quite got around to finishing the machining details for the front housing.  From what I was told, they were only a couple months away from being able to do make the front housing too, but the project was sidelined, and they never got back to work on it.

My most recent conversation with RB indicated that they aren't making any of them at the moment, because the plasma coating they have applied to the housings was costing them over $1000 per housing, JUST for the coating.  Since the housings were a low production run item, they weren't exactly cheap to produce even before the coating.  The bottom line was that they could do it, but the price would be over $2k, per housing, and they didn't think they'd sell enough to make it worthwhile.

There's still hope, and if there were enough people willing to commit to buying a set, I'd bet we could get them to make some more, and finish the front housing.  They also said the price of plasma coating went up dramatically, because of yet another one of those wacko California environmental laws.  They were at least half heartedly looking for a company outside of CA to do the coatings at a more reasonable price.

Cheers,
Rusty
