Wouldn't have run off the end - would have snagged the arresting barrier cable at that end of the runway.  I didn't want the extra delay - would have missed lunch with the rest of the flight.

Interesting, the military doesn't consider an emergency in the same connotation as the civilian side of things. Had you run off the end of the runway, would you have gotten nailed for accepting a downwind landing?
