"Need" is hard to define. I flew with the version you have for a long
time so upgrade is not mandatory. OTOH, I've made a lot of minor
& major improvements since then. Your call really. A major
update including new chips & rework required is $75. + shipping.
Must be returned for update due to the rework required on the board in addition
to new chips.
